From my recent summer vacation to Chicago, this is one of several photos I took of the John Hancock building which I just have not processed / published until now.
I actually decided to publish this one now - October 1st, 2011 - so that I could use it for a DA photo contest on Abstract Architectures and Structures. The abstract aspect of this photo is the power of the vertical beams of the building all the way to the sky and how the flags seem to further accentuate the lines of the tower.
Other than some cropping and image tilting alignment to get the center beam of the tower to align with the bottom left corner of the frame, the only other adjustment to the photo was to convert it to Black & White. This gives the straight lines of the photo more strength.
Hey, nice photo. I noticed you submitted it into the Abstract Architecture Contest. Unfortunately, it doesn't abide by the rules. You photo has to be taken on October 1st or later. The exif data on your piece says August 18.
Hey, I'm not a judge or anything, I was just looking through the entries and noticed one from Chicago. It's where I lived, so I wanted to look at it closer. Just thought I would give you a heads up.
